Hi Everyone

Well I have finally been able to put this newsletter together albeit the middle of January. I guess by now you will all be back into the swing of things and I hope you all had a great Christmas. I’m not sure whether I work more at home or at my Centre in Croydon it seems as though I never seem to stop.  I really cannot believe 2011 went so quickly.  

I believe 2012 will be an exciting year with  positive major changes and transformation for Violet Moon Centre. I feel there will be many opportunities for expansion this year and a year of unpredictable changes and inspiration for many people.    

There are many theories about what is going to happen during 2012 and according to the Mayan Calendar it may be the end of the world as we know it.  I guess we will have to wait and see what happens on 21.12.12.

During 2009 Violet Moon Spiritual Centre set up Violet Rose Moon CIC (Community Interest Company) Registered Company No: 07001694 it was set up to help people who needed complimentary therapies and counselling services at affordable prices.

Due to Government cuts and lack of funding generally Violet Rose Moon CIC has never received any financial help or support and because of this during 2012 we will be holding a series of fundraising events.  We hope you will support us.

Violet ‘Rose’ Moon CIC was created to carry on a range of activities for the benefit of the community helping a wide range of groups including members of the community who are suffering from depression and/or mental illness, people who need counselling to move forward with their life. Counselling includes psychospiritual counselling and bereavement counselling for those who need it

We also offer Energy Healing,  Reiki and Reflexology for those who feel they need extra help to regain their health. Violet Rose Moon CIC offers affordable access to specialist therapists, offering complimentary counselling and/or treatments in an informal setting. Ernest E of Maat Foundations & Therapies

The Black History Month Drum circle  with Catherine Pestano (trained at Goldsmiths in World Percussion) joined by Ernest E of Maat Foundations & Therapies (African drummer/teacher) held on 22nd October upstairs at Violet Moon Centre in Croydon was a total success. People enjoyed themselves so much we are now offering a regular drum circle with  Ernest E of Maat Foundations & Therapies (African drummer/teacher) starting on Wednesday 9th November at 7pm.   The drums will be provided but please bring your own if you have them.

Crystal of the Month:  Amethyst

The colour of amethyst is light to dark purple, sometimes, but very rarely one can find green amethyst and more often lavender or pink amethyst. If the stone is not transparent, white stripes are sometimes observed. Usually the stripes are V shaped producing a form generally known as chevron amethyst.

The origin of amethyst’s color is still a sort of mystery. At first it was attributed to traces of manganese, then some experts claimed that it was of organic origin. Now we believe that it has to do with iron impurities, and probably a role is played by aluminum as well. Our personal opinion is that the modern interpretation of the color origin in various minerals is deficient and cannot fully describe the actual complex physical picture. 

Under high temperature, amethyst changes its violet color to yellow (read citrine), and with specimens from some special regions of the world, it can change color to green (thus green amethyst). Natural citrine is quite rare, and the majority of citrine stones today in the mineral stores is obviously originating from amethyst. . 

One interesting feature is that the heated amethyst that was turned into citrine can restore its purple color if irradiated by X rays. 

The one of the largest mines of amethyst is located near the border between Bolivia and Brazil. This area is practically a tropical rainforest, hardly penetrable deep forests, which is accessible exclusively from the air.  read more …

This month we all have to be careful as Mercury went retrograde on 2nd August and it will remain retrograde until it moves forward again on 26th August.  During this time we can expect to see misunderstandings, setbacks and general chaos.  

From 2nd August Mercury retrograde moved through Mars governing my zodiac sign, Aries.   Even before I found out it was moving through Mars I felt its influence from as far back as the week before with things suddenly getting confused and generally going wrong.  

This week we have aggression everywhere with youths rioting and looting.  Violet Moon Spiritual Centre, my shop in Croydon was spared the destruction experienced by many traders around us in Church Street and London Road.   In fact 3 or 4 months ago I had a premonition in a dream letting me know there would be rioting in and around Croydon with me seeing young people who were also using scooters and motorbikes running through St George’s Walk, Croydon.  In the dream I saw youths being caught and held by police and others caught in Park Street.  I have to say it is because of that dream that when I heard rioting would come to Croydon I didn’t hesitate to cancel my appointments and class for that evening giving enough notice to stop my members even travelling into Central Croydon.  Normally, I would have said I will stick around and see what happens.  On Monday afternoon there appeared to be a heavier  police presence around the area from late afternoon and then traders  received a warning that we should shut up shop by 5pm and leave for home.   I am still in total shock this morning. Apparently the rioters carried on through West Croydon, Thornton Heath, Norbury, Crystal Palace and Streatham.  Reeves Corner is completely destroyed and some people had to jump from windows of their homes to escape the flames.

Epidote

Epidote is a stone of amplification, as it has the tendency to increase and expand everything it touches, be it energy or material object. It can strengthen emotional and spiritual growth. It releases and purifies suppressed emotions once and for all. Therefore epidote opens the doors toward spirituality, and individuals attracted to this stone often feel strong desire for spiritual awakening.  Its colour can vary depending on the iron concentration. It can be deeply green, brown, or almost black. It possesses a glassy appearance.  

 

Epidote is able to erase the barriers between us and the higher more spiritual worlds.   It can help receiving knowledge from reliable sources and using it properly. It grounds and intensifies the vibratory strength of the microcosm.

June/July has been very busy for us at Violet Moon Centre with hardly a minute to ourselves. The Power of our Subconscious minds

Following on from the above article I would like to talk about the power of our subconscious minds.  Recently a visitor to Violet Moon Centre mentioned a disturbing series of events in their friends home.  They were of the opinion that it was due  to  demonic activity around a young child.  Things had been thrown around and it sounded like some sort of poltergeist activity.  Although difficult, sometimes we have to “decipher the difference between real activity from an unsettled spirit and the power of someone’s unconscious mind. “ The following article written by Heidi Sawyer  covers this subject very well.    

“Poltergeists and the Power of the Unconscious Mind 

A man  was experiencing apparent Poltergeist activity in his home. An old record player that was not plugged in started to play; items were appearing in the centre of the room, all kinds of things.

Over the years I have learnt  to decipher the difference between real activity from an unsettled spirit and the power of someone’s unconscious mind. My first question to this man was: – “Have you a teenager?” My second question was: – “Have you recently gone through a relationship change, a divorce perhaps?” He answered yes to both. My thoughts were exactly that, he had a teenage boy in the house and a new partner. How did I know? A mixture of psychic intuition and experience. 

The unconscious mind is extremely powerful it can create all kinds of events as a reality. It is my belief we mistakenly believe we are in total charge of our everyday mind when really it is the silent world of the unconscious that often dictates our reality. 

Upon investigation into the energy around Bill I could see and feel his teenage son felt unsettled about the relationship change even though it had been a while since his parents had divorced. This young lad I could feel was deeply sensitive but often didn’t express how he felt or even know how he was truly feeling. His dad agreed, he said his son was a very jolly character on the surface but when feeling vulnerable would clam up. 

I told Bill his son was nervous about the new relationship his dad had in his life. I said he wants to like your partner but he’s not sure about her. He’s nervous about school as well as there are changes in that environment. His dad again agreed. I said the poltergeist activity was in fact this young lad’s psychic energy literally bouncing off the walls. This teenager was deeply psychic and creatively gifted yet did not know. I moved some of the energy around by allowing it to become conscious. 

When Bill returned home he asked his son about how he was feeling. With some pressing he confessed he was indeed nervous about the new partner and changes around school. Bill had gone home with some clear instructions from me on what to do. He followed them religiously, his son was happier and to this day there has been no more ‘ghostly’ activity…”

Are You an Emotional Pain Junkie?

Change Your Self-Perception

How we perceive ourselves, along with the tone and intent of our internal dialogue, shapes our daily lives and experiences. We’re the one person that we truly cannot escape should our relationship with ourselves turn ugly. Usually, though, this form of self-abuse is a habitual way of life, and many people are only minutely aware of how deep its destructive roots actually go. Any strong emotional sensation can be addictive, and while happiness may seem like the preferred emotional addiction, there are throngs of miserable humans who are hooked on emotional pain. Here are a few indicators that you may be an emotional pain junkie.

The Guilt Grip

Guilt, a common form of mental self-abuse, is a behavior many people learn at a very young age. Numerous religions teach their adherents about guilt, and many parents instill this emotion in their children as a part of their moral development. For example, many mom and dads teach their offspring that guilt is the appropriate response for stealing, lying, hurting others or treating them unfairly.

While this emotion is ethical in these circumstances, some people burden themselves with feelings of guilt above and beyond what the situation merits. Carrying around guilt means the person is not willing to forgive themselves. This is not only destructive behavior, but invariably leads to constant emotional pain. The answer is to learn from your mistakes and make peace with them, in whatever manner necessary. Only then can you let go of the iron grip of guilt.

The Repeat Button

Life is full of many experiences, and while it may be the great ones you would choose to relive in your mind, sometimes it’s the destructive memories which often beat their way to the surface. If you find yourself continually reliving specific negative experiences, you are enabling your inner junkie to receive his or her emotional pain “fix.” Find peace with the past and stop beating yourself up over it so that you can clear the way for fresh experiences untainted with emotional baggage.

The Merciless Critic

Perfectionists and individuals of lower self-esteem tend to fall victim to their own inner critic. This internal voice always finds fault with whatever you do and is there to tell you that no matter how great your efforts, you will never be good enough. To be human is to be imperfect, and doing your best is all you can ask of yourself. Whatever the situation, give it your all, and then move on to the next great thing in your life.

Recognising the signs of mental self-abuse is the only way to turn your life toward a more positive direction. For a wholesome change, try being your biggest fan instead of your own worst enemy!
